The legs are feathered, the ankles are bare, and the toes of the feet are behind the front toe. The Changcheng small group inhabits the dense reed marshes or the shrubs near the waters, mainly feeding on animal food such as small fish, frogs, crustaceans, lizards and aphids. Distributed in China, India, Iran, southern Europe, Africa and Madagascar.
