The dragon is the most common pattern on the bronzes of the Shang and Zhou dynasties after the animal face. On bronzes, dragons are mostly designed as abstract objects that are presented on the side and have a long body. This kind of dragon presented in the side is called "夔" or "夔龙". In the "Shan Hai Jing·Da Niu Dong Jing", there is also a record of "夔": "There are animals like cows, and the body is hornless, one foot, and the water will be rainy and windy. Its light is like the sun and the moon, its sound is like thunder, its name Hey."
